Cooper City

Tucked away in southwestern Broward County, Cooper City is a serene, well-planned community that’s home to just over 35,000 residents. Situated around 12 miles west of Fort Lauderdale, it is bordered by Southwest Ranches, Davie, Hollywood, and Pembroke Pines. The city is close to everything the region has to offer, with both the beaches and the Everglades no more than a short drive away.

Once ranked among the 10 best U.S. cities for families by Family Circle magazine, Cooper City is known for its quiet, leafy neighborhoods and top-rated schools as well as its numerous recreational facilities and green spaces. Established in 1959, it has built a reputation for being a great place to live and truly lives up to its “Someplace Special” tagline.

Cooper City is home to quite a few public schools that have attained an “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education. Residents also have access to a variety of private schools as well as to 21 parks, three sports complexes, and an array of community facilities, including a pool and tennis center. There’s also a myriad of recreational programs and events, from Pilates and Zumba classes to swim lessons and spring, summer, and winter camps.

The housing market in Cooper City is dominated by single-family homes in a wide range of styles and sizes. Here you can find anything from a two or three-bedroom bungalow on a tree-shaded street to a spacious waterfront Mediterranean-style villa, as well as a few townhouses.

While primarily residential, Cooper City does boast a sprinkling of commercial spaces where you can shop and dine. These include Countryside Shops, Cooper Square Plaza, Stirling Town Center, and Shoppes of Cooper City.
